Laureate Prize Alfons Blomme 2009
Every two years, vzw Nieuwe Stichting Alfons Blomme organises the Art Painting contest A. Blomme. 52 artists from Flanders and The Netherlands participated in the 16th edition. The First Prize was granted to the painting Le banquet du fric et des nichons. The second prize was awarded to the Dutch painter Paul Legeland.

25 april 2008 - Winner pre-final Talenspalet:
From the report of the Jury: 'The artist created an alienating atmosphere which transcended the theme's literality. This photographical image has been painted in an expressive yet subdued way. The art work's composition is very strong. It's contemporary with a nicely elaborated tonality. The viewer is attracted by the way it's contrasts work. The painting has been composed in a non-evident colour scheme.'
31 march 2008- selected for Canvascollection, an art contest on the Belgian cultural television network:
4.700 professional and non-professional artists participated in the Canvascollection with 14.000 works of art. No more than 250 works passed the two jury rounds, among Keiner wüsste.
